Location: The Cumberland cemetery is located approximately 14 1/2 miles out of Kemmerer, Lincoln County, Wyoming, on the old road to Evanston, Wyoming. The old mining towns of Cumberland I and Cumberland 11 are no longer in existence. The cemetery lies to the west ofthe road within sight ofthe road.

Condition: The cemetery itself is surrounded by a wire fence which has not been very successful in keeping the cattle and sheep from entering and doing considerable damage. Basically, the cerne,t,,ry is in frightful condition. Many ofthe grave markers are made ofwood- any inscriptions have long since succumbed to the wind and weather. There are man@, many graves outlined with stones but having no additional markers; most ofthese apparently are children's graves. There are also a number of sunken places that are unmarked.
