Glen V. Yeager

Mr. Glen Victor Yeager, 76, a resident of 204 First St. in Junior, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at his residence in Junior. He had been in declining health for the past six months.

He was born Dec. 28, 1930, at the Talbott community, a son of the late Myron Bernard and Ethel England Yeager.             On Aug. 20, 1949, at Elkins, he was united in marriage to the former Carmon Lee Swisher, who survives at their residence in Junior.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Yeager is survived by two sons, Glen Alan Yeager and wife, Mary Frances, of Elkins and David Wayne Yeager and wife, Terry, of Jimtown; and three brothers, S.L. Yeager of Belington, Milford Yeager and wife, Ida Mae, of Belington and Sterling Yeager and wife, Zelma, of Elkins. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Stacie Friddle and husband, Chip, Heather Reesman and husband, Craig, Andrew Yeager and wife, Ashley, and Madison, Nick, Nicole, Manda, Destiny and Jerrica Yeager; and one great-grandson, Maddox Reesman.

He attended the schools of Barbour County, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy surviving during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the H.W. Daniels American Legion Post 29. He was a railroad worker from which he had retired, was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was loved by his family and friends.

Friends will be received at Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and on Sunday until 2 p.m., the funeral hour, when final rites will conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Gary Rapking officiating. Interment will follow in K of P Cemetery in Junior where the presentation of the American flag will be conducted by the American Legion Post 44 of Philippi. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to Mountain Hospice, Crim Ave., Belington, W.Va. 26250. Ethel V. Yokum

Ethel Virginia Bergdoll Yokum, 83, of Petersburg, died on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, in Grant County Nursing Home at Petersburg.

Visitation will be Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Schaeffer Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Edgar Null officiating. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens at York, Pa. Schaeffer Funeral Home services.   From 8 Nov 2007.

Betty E. Young

Betty Elizabeth Young, 72, of Webster Springs, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at the home of her daughter at Point Mountain.

She was born June 12, 1935, at Webster Springs, a daughter of the late Burley B. McCourt and Grace A. McCourt McCourt.

On May 6, 1961, she was married to George Wayman Young, who preceded her in death Dec. 15, 2004.

Surviving are two daughters, Vanessa C. Carlin of Webster Springs and Kathy Lee “Kate” Botts of Buckhannon; two grandsons, Shane Jessie Carlin of Cleveland, Ohio, and Dustin Samuel Botts of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Samantha “Gracie” Botts of Buckhannon; and four sisters, Ruth Tyler of West Union, Bernice Riffe of Cleveland, Ohio, Vera Fritch of Wayland, Ohio, and Carolyn Tennyson of Newton Falls, Ohio.

Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Young; and three sisters, Leona Johnson, Lee Queen and Norma Jean Barnhill.

She was a homemaker and attended Salem Ridge United Methodist Church. She was a member of Rock Cave Chapter 82 Order of the Eastern Star.

Friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, at Salem Ridge United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wease Day officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Ridge Church Cemetery at Rock Cave. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
