Bonnie Louise Vance, 60, of Franklin, died Friday, July 13, 2007, in
Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Va.
Friends called at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg Sunday and may call today
from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home
Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold Cullers officiating. Interment will be

Edith M. Vance
Edith Mae Vance, 92, of Onego, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, in Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Seneca Rocks Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the church with the Rev. Steve Landis officiating. Burial will be in Vance Cemetery near Onego. Kimble Funeral Home services. From 2 Oct 2007.

Ricky David Vance, 44, a resident of Dry Fork, passed away
Saturday, March 31, 2007, at his home. His death was unexpected.

Ricky D. Vance
Ricky D.Vance, 44, a resident of Dryfork, passed away very
unexpectedly Saturday, March 31, 2007, at his home. He was born Feb. 7, 1963, in
Elkins, a son of the late Teddy H. Vance Sr.
On Aug. 22, 1987, he was married to C. Michelle Judy, who survives at Dryfork.
Also surviving are two sons, Matthew and Dylan Vance, both at home; two
brothers, Teddy Vance Jr. and wife, Helen, of Dryfork and Randy Vance and
friend, Sue, of Kelly Mountain. His in-laws, Dwyer and Sandy Judy of Whitmer and
Michael and Jennifer Judy of Whitmer, also survive.
Ricky was a graduate of Tucker County High School with the class of 1982. He was
employed by Timberline Home Owners Association. Ricky was a great father,
husband, uncle and friend to many and will be greatly missed.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at the Whitmer United Methodist
Church. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 5 from the
church with the Rev. Earl Bible officiating. Interment will follow in the Laurel
Hill Cemetery near Whitmer. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of

David William “Bill” VanMeter, 27, of Upper Tract, died
Saturday, May 26, 2007, at his home.

Thurman Vannoy Jr.
Thurman R. “Buddy” Vannoy Jr., 40, of Collegeville, Pa.,
passed away early Monday, Feb. 5, 2007.
Born Sept. 11, 1966, at Norristown, Pa., he was one of two children born to
Thurman “Bud” Vannoy Sr. and Vonda Mullenax Vannoy.
Mr. Vannoy was a 1988 graduate of Perkiomen Valley High School. He enjoyed
bowling, music and the family’s summer home in West Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Todd; his aunt,
Georgia; and his uncle, Keith.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services on Friday, Feb.
9, at noon at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel in Arbovale with the Rev.
David Rittenhouse officiating. There will be a viewing from 11 a.m. to noon at
the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Arbovale Cemetery. There will also
be a viewing on Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the R.L. Williams
Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., Skippack Pike and Cedars Road at Skippack, Pa.

Rylan A. Vanscoy
Rylan Axil Vanscoy went home to be with the Lord, Sunday
morning, July 29, 2007, at his home. God blessed our lives by loaning us our
precious baby boy.
He was born Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Morgantown. He is greatly loved and
missed by his parents, Courtney Brooke Streets and Travis Tyler Vanscoy.
Also surviving are his maternal grandparents, Allen and Mary Beth Streets;
paternal grandparents, Ritchie and Sandra Vanscoy; his aunt, Dakota Streets, and
uncle, Trevor Vanscoy; great-grandparents, Sharolett Streets, Kent and Mary Lee,
Cletis and Pam Vanscoy, Phyllis Henline, and Linda Hedrick; and
great-great-grandparent, Reatis Mullenax.
Preceding him in death are his great-grandfathers, Sonny Streets and Chester
Hedrick; and great-great-grandparents, Lawrence Mullenax, Lester and Zelda
Bender, Fred and Lenora Combs, Anna Vanscoy, Fred and Edith Carr and Ezra and
Nelle Lee.
A private graveside service was conducted today at Sunrise Cemetery at Hambleton
with Pastor John Means and Pastor Pat Cassidy officiating. Lohr & Barb
Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Rylan Axil Vanscoy.

Mildred R. Varner
Mildred Ruth Varner, 78, a resident of St. George, departed
this life early Sunday morning, May 6, 2007, in Mansfield Place at Philippi. She
had been in declining health and death was attributed to cancer.
She was born Friday, Jan. 4, 1929, at Clover Run, a daughter of the late Porter
A. Varner and Melvina “Millie” Shaffer Varner.
She had never married.
Surviving are one sister, Velma Emogene Moats and husband, Ward M.; one nephew,
William Ward Moats and wife, Sharon; one niece, Mildred Marie “Millie”
Shaffer and husband, Harry Thomas “Tom,” all of St. George; three
great-nephews, Thomas A. Shaffer of Barrickville, Travis William Moats and Scott
Wesley Moats, both of St. George; one great-niece; Kristi Marie Wolford and
husband, David, of Fairmont; and two great-great-nephews, Zachariah David
Wolford and Tristan Shane Wolford.
Preceding her in death was one brother, John Edward Varner.
She attended the Harper one-room school at Clover Run. She worked for the former
Tucker County Hospital at Parsons for 16 years in the housekeeping department
and she was a member of the Union Chapel Church at Clover Run.
The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons today
from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor
Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at 1 p.m. The Rev. Neil Parsons will officiate and
interment will follow in Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons. Lohr & Barb

Charles Vorderberg
Charles C. Vorderberg, 90, of Buckhannon, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2007, in
Valentine Assisted Living Home in Beverly.
He was born July 3, 1917, at Davenport, Iowa, a son of the late William and
Mildred Ida Cruys Vorderberg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence May Arnold, who died Jan. 26,
2004.
He is survived by one son, Charles “Chuck” and wife, Karen Vorderberg, of
Buckhannon; and four grandchildren, Jeffrey Vorderberg of St. Paul, Minn., Dana
Vorderberg of Bridgewater, Va., Jason Vorderberg and Weston Vorderberg, both of
Buckhannon.
Mr. Vorderberg was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He
wrote a humor column for various newspapers since the 1940s, including the
Record Delta. He had his doctor of education degree and had taught at a junior
high school in Illinois for 14 years and had also taught in three colleges and a
university. He attended the First Presbyterian Church and was a former member of
the Kiwanis Club in Cartersville, Ga.
At the request of the deceased, the body was cremated. Private memorial services
will be scheduled at a later date. Online condolences may be extended to the
