Ernest "Doc" Hart, Local Physician ‘Doc’ Hart Dies at 76
Ernest Neve “Doc” Hart Jr., M.D., better known to all who knew him as
“Doc,” was a physician, minister, composer, lyricist and playwright. He was
76, and went to meet with his Lord on the evening of April 1 at home surrounded
by his loving family.

Bobby Gardner and wife, Debbie, of South Charleston. Also surviving are his
daughters, Pam Jones of Elkins, Debbie Roberts and husband, Harry, of Austin,

Presbyterian Theological Seminary and the University School of Medicine in
Louisville, Ky. He took his internship and surgical residency at Lackland Air
Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He attended Harvard University and Wake
Forest. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served as a flight
surgeon. He was a general surgeon and was a medical director of the City Health
Department in Brownsville, Texas, and the Huttonsville Correctional Center, and

figures. Although well versed in many fields, his love of his family and friends
were first in his life and he remained a humble, God-loving person who looked
forward to helping others.
His philosophy of life was, if each man is unique, each of his creations is
unique also. What we have created within is reflected back to us by our senses;
hence, we are able to see in others what we are capable of seeing within
ourselves. Paradise is mine when I can see loveliness in every life.
