Kathryn A. Pingley
Kathryn Adeline Boserman Pingley, 90, a former resident of Norton, and since 1989, a resident of Nella’s Nursing Home at Crystal Springs, departed this life Saturday morning, Dec. 14, 2002, at the nursing home. She had been in declining health.
She was born Sunday, Feb. 11, 1912, at Norton, a daughter of the late William Roy Boserman and Dott Ferguson Boserman.
On Sept. 10, 1928, at Elkins, she was married to Robert Francis Pingley, who preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 1969.
Surviving are one son, William "Bill" Pingley and wife, Lovada, Norton; two daughters, Nancy Bolyard and husband, Paul, Thornton, and Elizabeth "Dottie" Bertelli and husband, David, Norton; one brother, Robert Boserman and wife, Norma, Elkins; one sister, Ora Lee Garner and husband, Donald, Falling Waters; 20 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Eugene Pingley; four brothers and three sisters.
She attended the schools of Coalton and Elkins. She was a homemaker and in her earlier years enjoyed quilting and gardening. She was a Methodist.
Friends will be received at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Raymond L. Pingley
Raymond L. Pingley, 75, a resident of Valley Bend, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, in Louis A. Johnson Veterans Administration Hospital in Clarksburg. He had been in failing health but his death was unexpected.
He was born May 25, 1927, at Norton, a son of the late David D. and Beulah Plaugher Pingley.
On Jan. 7, 1954, he was married to Arizona Swecker Pingley, who survives at Valley Bend.
Also surviving are one son, Roger Pingley and wife, Stephania Phillips, of Valley Bend; one sister, Juanita Phillips and husband, Bob, of Valley Bend; two grandchildren, Misty Dawn Pingley Myers and Gavin Raymond Pingley; one stepgranddaughter, Emily Dubois; one stepgrandson, Trevor Donald Phillips; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Frank, Robert and Ralph Pingley.
Mr. Pingley was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was employed by Scott’s Auto Sales for many years. He retired from the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources, where he was employed as a mechanic. He was a member of the H.W. Daniels Post 29, American Legion and was a Protestant by faith.
At the request of the deceased, a graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the American Legion’s Little Arlington Cemetery. The Rev. Randall Brake and the Rev. Walter Blough will officiate. Full military rites will be accorded at the gravesite by members of H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion and Tygart Valley Post 3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars and interment will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion, Fourth Street, Elkins, W.Va. 26241 in memory of Mr. Pingley. From 30 Sep 2002.

Sandra Pnakovich, a resident of Beverly, passed away at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2002, at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, following an extended illness.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Josephine M. Poe, 76, a resident of Nella’s Nursing Home in Crystal Springs, passed away at 3:55 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2002, in the nursing home.
She was born Feb. 16, 1926, in Grand Ledge, Mich., a daughter of the late Fred and Myrtle Brown Shepard.
She was thrice married. Her first husband, William Peter Wellman, preceded her in death. She then married James Wrisley, who also preceded her in death. On May 10, 1993, she was united in marriage to Roy E. Poe, who passed away on March 11, 2002.

Josephine M. Poe, 76, a former resident of Ervin Lane and a resident of Nella’s Nursing Home in Crystal Springs for the past 10 months, passed away at 3:55 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2002, in the nursing home.

Tom Wellman and wife, Pat, of Marmaduke, Ark.; three sisters, Marian Bowers, Stanwood, Mich., Donna Whaly and Margaret Shaw, both of Onaway, Mich.; three brothers, Richard Shepard and Henry Shepard, both of Grand Ledge, Mich., and Lawrance Shepard, Shepard, Mich.; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were a daughter, Donna Lou Wellman; a brother, Fredrick Shepard; and a great-grandson, Kenneth Falls.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Abundant Life Christian Center. Previously she attended the church of the Rev. Billy Shreve and also the Gospel Light Tabernacle.
Friends will be received at the F.E. Runner Funeral Home after 6 p.m. today. Funeral services will be conducted from the Runner Chapel on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Roy E. Poe, 81, a resident of Nella’s Nursing Home, passed away, Monday, March 11, 2002, at 7:15 a.m. in Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 12, 1920, at Elkins, a son of the late O.C. and Etta Ware Poe.
On May 10, 1993, he was united in marriage to the former Josephine M. Shepard, who is presently a resident of Nella’s Nursing Home.

Roy E. Poe
Roy E. Poe, 81, a resident of Nella’s Nursing Home, passed away Monday, March 11, 2002, at 7:15 a.m., at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, where he was admitted earlier in the day. He had been in failing health; however, death was unexpected.
He was born Oct. 12, 1920, in Elkins, a son of the late Omer Clyde and Etta Ware Poe.
On May 10, 1993, he was united in marriage to the former Josephine M. Shepard, who is currently a resident at Nella’s Nursing Home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lois Henry and husband, Willie, of Kerens, and Marian Spartman and husband, Richard, of Arkansas; two sons, William Wellman and wife, Wilma, of Junior, and Tom Wellman and wife, Pat, of Arkansas; one sister, Mrs. Victor (Virginia) Mastrogiuseppe Sr. of Coalton; one brother, Vernon Poe of Humble, Texas; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death besides his parents are one daughter, Donna Lou Wellman; three sisters, Letta Gum and two infants; three brothers, Ronald, Don and Dale Poe; and one great-grandson, Kenneth Falls.
He was a lumberman in Virginia and was a custodian at a nursing home. In 1942, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1945, and then joined the U.S. Air Force. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force he then joined the Army Engineers. He was a member of the Abundant Life Christian Center.
Friends will be received at F.E. Runner Funeral Home today after 6 p.m. On Thursday, Mr. Poe will be moved to Abundant Life Christian Center for visitation from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., the funeral hour. Pastor Curlie Ray Jr. of Abundant Life Christian Center will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. State Memorial Gardens at Gilman. Alice Parks Campbell Poling, 65, a resident of Flemington, passed away at 7 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, in the United Hospital Center emergency room.
She was born July 24, 1937, in Barbour County, a daughter of the late Hercel Parks and Blanche Bartlett Peters.
She was twice married, first to Lonnie Campbell and second to Roy Poling.
Surviving are a companion of 20 years, Casto Funk, Morgantown; four daughters, Rosie Biggins, Grafton, Cathy Nichols, Florida, Peggy Campbell, Flemington, and Julie Campbell, Grafton; nine sons, Carl Campbell, Flemington, David Campbell, Simpson, Mark Campbell, Flemington, Jimmy Campbell, Fairmont, Jason Campbell, Clarksburg, Frank Campbell, Paul Campbell, Danny Campbell and Joey Campbell, all of Flemington; two sisters, Olive Sapp and Betty L. Jenkins, both of Flemington; two brothers, Charles Peters, Flemington, and Frankie Peters, Waynesburg, Pa.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Earl; two sisters and one brother.
She was a homemaker and a Pentecostal by faith.

Glenda George Poling, 79, a resident of Parsons, and more recently a resident of Cortland Acres Nursing Home, departed this life at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2002, in the nursing home. She had been in declining health and death was attributed to a stroke.
She was born Nov. 26, 1922, in Elk, Tucker County, a daughter of the late Luther Guy George and Laura Alice Carr George.
On March 4, 1939, in Parsons, she was married to Hoy "Porter" Poling, who preceded her in death on April 29, 1976.
Surviving are two sons, Porter "Edward" Poling and wife, Eileen, Parsons, and Richard Glenn Poling and wife, Stephanie, New Creek; two daughters, Katherine Louise Pine and husband, Darl Franklin and Glenda Alice Lipscomb and husband, Carl Eugene, all of Parsons; one brother, Calvin George and wife, Retha, Parkers Lake, Ky.; two sisters, Tressa Wilson, Kingsville, Texas, and Ruth Sherman, Berlin, N.J.; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Preceding her in death are three sisters, Toy Loughry, Virginia Williams and Rella Poling; and one grandson, Bryan Poling.
She attended the schools of Tucker County. She was a member of the Tucker County Senior Citizens, she was a member of AARP, and she was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.

Mildred J. Poling
Mildred Josephine "Tillie" Dadisman Poling, 67, of Route 4, Mt. Liberty Road, Philippi, died at 9:56 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, in Broaddus Hospital.
Mrs. Poling was born April 27, 1935, in Barbour County, a daughter of the late Okey Von and Sylvia Simpson Dadisman.
On Dec. 10, 1952, she married Willard Ray Poling, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and David Haller, Tacy community, Philippi, Loretta Skidmore, Elkins, and Karen Sue and Donald Delauder, Teter Lake Community, Philippi; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark Ray and Barbara Poling, Belington; a sister, Ruby Jean Hammers, Jonesboro, Ga.; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers.
Mrs. Poling was a homemaker and care giver for several elderly families. She was a member of Mt. Liberty Senior Center and attended Philippi Church of God.
Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi today after 7 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Martin and the Rev. W.F. Boylen officiating. Ralph W. Poling
Ralph Wayne Poling, 77, a resident of Route 4, Philippi, passed away at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, in the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg.
He was born Jan. 14, 1925, at Philippi, a son of the late Opha D. and Ora Mae Bosley Poling.
His wife of 57 years, the former Elwanda Hill, survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Peggy J. Poling; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard W. Poling and wife, Janet C., Jeff L. Poling and J. Bruce Poling and wife, Denise; three brothers, Warren D. Poling, John C. Poling and James L. Poling; seven grandchildren, Ryan Scott Poling, Christopher Roth Poling, Colleen Poling, Megan Poling, Aaron Trent, Shane Trent and Erica Trent; and loving pets, Wymer-dog, Tachie Marie, Digger-McCall and Newton-Parrot.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Juanita Flint.
Mr. Poling was proprietor of Ralph’s Country Store on U.S. Route 250. He served as staff sergeant of the 376 Bomber Group of the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a top touret gunner on a B-24 Liberator. He was shot down becoming a MIA/POW in Romania. He was awarded the Purple Heart and four Bronze Stars for good conduct. He was a member of the VFW Post 410 of Belington, American Legion Post 44 of Philippi and a member of Barbour Church of Christ.
There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the West Virginia National Cemetery at Pruntytown with Richard Poling and Evangelist Stan Jenkins officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ralph Poling Memorial Fund, in care of the Barbour County Bank to benefit the Clarksburg VA Medical Center. Dorotha W. Polovina
Dorotha Ward Toadvine Polovina, 90, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at her home and resided at 13430 Coppermine Road, Herndon, Va.
She will be buried in Tyaskin, Md., next to her late husband Harry Leon Toadvine.
She was born June 1, 1912, a daughter of Ray and Hattie Ward of Crystal Springs.
She was a graduate of Elkins High School and Richmond Business College in Richmond, Va. Upon graduation she was employed by the U.S. government in Washington, D.C., where she met Harry Leon Toadvine.
On Nov. 25, 1936, they were married at the home of Dorotha Ward in Crystal Springs. Harry was the son of Minnie Alice Toadvine and Harry V. Toadvine of Whitehaven, Md., and preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 1948, in Arlington, Va.
Upon retirement from the Navy Department at age 72, she enjoyed helping seniors in nursing homes, working at her church as a volunteer, making crafts, attending senior citizen activities, and attending the family reunions held every two years in Crystal Springs, at the home place where she grew up. She attended McLean Bible Church in McLean, Va., and her long life is attributed to regular walking, nutrition and vitamins, which benefited her with the rewards of good health.
She is survived by three daughters, Joe Eileen McDonald of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Darlene Toadvine Dolbey of Fairfax, Va., and Connie Polovina Garnet of Elkins; one granddaughter, Jennifer McDonald-Wigfield of Littleton, Colo.; two brothers, Willard Clarence Ward of Chester, Va., and Lawrence Whitman Ward of Oak Grove, Ore.; and one sister, Mary Louise Enlow of Baltimore, Md.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Lanier Ward, Austin Ward and Waldo Ward; and three sisters, Freda White, Ada Ward and Margaret Ann Ward. From 11 Sep 2002.

William H. Pomp
William Hayes Pomp, 78, of 715 Crim Ave., Belington, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at his home, following an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 5, 1924, at Cassity, Randolph County, a son of the late William Mortley and Nettie (Smith) Pomp.
On March 1, 1945, he married the former Madelene Hope Himes, who preceded him in death on Feb. 23, 1983.
Surviving are three sons, Steve H. Pomp and wife, Ann Marie, Wall, N.J., William Michael Pomp and wife, Beuna, Belington, and Steven Anthony Pomp, who is a son of Steven H. Pomp, but was adopted and raised by Mr. and Mrs. Pomp, at home; four daughters, Judy L. Jackson Gunn and husband, John Morganton, N.C. Rosemary E. Ware and husband, Robert, Belington, Robin K. Pomp and Vickie D. Pomp, both at home; six grandchildren, William Christopher Pomp, Connie Hope Brown, Michael David Pomp, Amanda Dawn Ware, William Allen Ware and Alicia Marie Pomp; great-grandchildren, Travis Michael Pomp, Brook Nicole Pomp and Madelyn Hope Pomp; one brother, Berton Pomp, Baltimore, Md.; and one sister, Wilda Arbogast, Elkins.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Lillian Bennett; and one brother, Cecil Pomp.
Mr. Pomp was a former coal miner and former truck driver for the Ray Ware Lumber Co. He was a veteran member of the Belington VFD and the Belington EMS. He was a former Boy Scout leader and was a member of the West Side United Methodist Church.
Friends may call at Schoonover-Stemple Funeral Chapel in Belington from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, when funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Christabelle Poore, 73, of Fort Washington, Md., died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2002, in John Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, Md.

Lynn Norman Post, 71, of Route 9, Box 235, Buckhannon, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Fla.

Helen Grace Currence Powers, 81, a native of Elkins, and a resident of Logan, Utah, departed this life on Saturday, June 22, 2002, at Logan, Utah.
She was born on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1920, at Elkins, a daughter of the late H. Blaine Currence, and Priscilla Clementine Kerns Currence.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Powers, Logan, Utah, and Priscilla Jane Powers, Whiterock, Utah; and one brother, Robert Currence, Morgantown.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Hugh, Kenneth and Donald Currence; and two sisters, Edith Currence McDougal and Kathleen Currence Rollins.

Philip S. Powers
Philip Sloan Powers, 86, of Richmond, Va., died peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jacin Powers.
He is survived by his wife, Vada Gear Powers; three sons, Philip S. Powers Jr., Timothy W. Powers and Scott E. Powers; four grandchildren, Tamra, Bryan Scott, Kevin and Dominic; four great-grandchildren, Sara, Jonathon, Tyler and Haley.
A graduate of Davis & Elkins College, Mr. Powers was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and later served his country as a civilian in the European headquarters, U.S. EUCOM, in Paris, France, and Stuttgart, Germany.
He was a member of the American Church of Paris and the Colonial Dance Club of Richmond.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 West Broad St., Richmond, Va. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Mausoleum Chapel at Westhampton Memorial Park. Sara A. Powers
Sara Ann Reed Powers, 22, of Buckhannon, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, in Braxton County from to injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
She was born Dec. 9, 1979, in Elkins, a daughter of Billy Reed Jr. of Buckhannon, and Diana Staley Reed of Adrian.
Also surviving are two daughters, Cassidy Jade Powers and Layla Faye Bryant, one son, Blade Donovan Powers, all of Buckhannon; one brother, Edward Reed of Adrian; her maternal grandmother, Violet Staley of Adrian; paternal grandfather and grandmother, Billy Reed and Jenny Reed of French Creek.
She was preceded in death by her fiance, Shawn Bryant.
She was a homemaker and was attending Fred W. Eberly, LPN School in Buckhannon.
Friends will be received today from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Weese Day officiating. Burial will follow in Indian Camp Cemetery. From 14 Mar 2002

William Dorsey Price, 92, a former resident of Parsons and more recently a resident of Cortland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas, departed this life Tuesday evening, Aug. 6, 2002, at the nursing home. He had been in declining health.

William D. Price
William Dorsey Price, 92, a resident of Parsons, and more recently a resident of the Cortland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas, departed this life Tuesday evening, Aug. 6, 2002, at the nursing home.
He was born April 18, 1910, at Clover Run, Tucker County, a son of the late William M. Price and Mary J. Kisner Price.
He was married to Frances Marie Dehaven Price, who preceded him in death during 1975.
Surviving are one son-in-law, John M. Wayson and one grandson, John "Marvin" Wayson II, both of Baltimore, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Alma Price Wayson; eight brothers, Fred, Carl, Harry, Chester, Edward, Arthur Price and two infants; and four sisters, Margaret Merryman, Ethel Wingfield, Dorother "Dot" Holler and Carrie Nestor.
He attended the one room school at Clover Run. He was an employee of the former Dorman Mills of Parsons, and retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways. He was a member of the Tucker County Senior Center, the First Baptist Church of Parsons, of which he was a former member of the choir.
The family will receive friends at the Barb & Greenlief Funeral Home from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Friday at 11 a.m. Pastor Allen D. Crosten will officiate and interment will follow in Parsons City Cemetery. From 8 Aug 2002.

Bryn K. Pritt
Bryn K. Pritt, 24, of Knox Road 3, Pennsylvania, died at 1:45 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, in Pennsylvania from injuries received in a motorcycle accident.
He was born Nov. 22, 1977, in Clarion, Pa., a son of Donald R. "Dick" and Rose Mary Hedrick Pritt of Monroe, Pa.
He was employed by Versitec Industries of Monaca. He was a member of the Knox Rod & Gun Club, Fryburg Rod & Gun Club, Clarion Eagles Club and the Sons of the American Legion in Knox, Pa.
He was an avid hunter and enjoyed motorcycles, playing pool, pool tournaments and working on his truck.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his fiance, Tomi Tyler of Knox, Pa.; her parents, Tom and Mary Tyler of Shippenville, Pa.; one brother, Richard B. Pritt and wife, Heather, of Knox, Pa.; one niece, Jacey Taylor Pritt of Knox, Pa.; paternal grandmother, Bessie Pritt of Beverly; maternal great-grandmother, Eva Wolford of West Virginia; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Walter Lee and Pansy Pauline Hedrick; and paternal grandfather, Donald D. Pritt.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today in the David C. McEntire Funeral Home in Knox, Pa. Friends will also be received at Beverly United Methodist Church from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be at the church Wednesday at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Charles W. Pritt
Charles W. Pritt, 81, a resident of Kerens for 20 years and a patient in Nella’s Nursing Home for the past 4 1/2 years, died Thursday afternoon, Feb. 14, 2002, in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
He was born April 2, 1920, at Mill Creek, a son of the late Melvin William and Missoura Martin Pritt. He was twice married, first to Minnie Mae McCune Pritt, who preceded him in death, and later to Jetta Mae Taylor Pritt, who survives in Elkins.
He is also survived by one daughter, Evelyn Ann Gregory of Elkins; two brothers, Arlen Pritt, Elkins, and Lilbert Pritt, Junior; one sister, Anna Burnside, Dailey; and six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Zona Shiflett and Buella Howell, and six infant brothers and sisters.
Mr. Pritt attended the schools of Randolph County and was employed by the West Virginia Department of Highways at the time of his retirement. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Gary A. Pritt
Gary Allen Pritt, 38, a former resident of the Cravensdale community and a resident of 105 1/2 Duncan Ave., Clarksburg, passed away Thursday morning Nov. 28, 2002, at his residence. He had been in his usual health and death was sudden and unexpected.
Born July 6, 1964, in Elkins, he was the son of Arlen Lee and Pauline Mae Taylor Pritt, who survive at Cravensdale.
Also surviving is his maternal grandmother, Carrie Taylor, Cravensdale; two sons, Gary Allen Pritt Jr. and Russell Shane Crites, both of Elkins; one sister, Joyce Susan Pritt, Cravensdale; and five brothers, Robert Lee Pritt and wife, Joyce, Cravensdale, Arthur Woodrow Pritt and wife, Angel, Clarksburg, Terry Lee Pritt and wife Alisa, Chenoweth Creek, his twin brother, Jerry Allen Pritt and wife, Melissa, Cravensdale, and Terry Allen Pritt, at home. In addition, he is survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Preceding him in death was his maternal grandfather, John Bosworth Taylor, and his paternal grandparents, Melvin and Misouri Martin Pritt.
He was employed by A&S Construction Co. in Elkins for several years.
Gary attended the schools of Randolph County. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was known well for playing board games and he loved spending time with his family and friends. He also had a great love for animals.
He was a Protestant by faith.
Friends will be received at the F.E. Runner Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday after 5 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from the Runner Chapel on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Pastor charles Herron of the Revival Center Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the Pritt Cemetery at Cravensdale.

Irene Mione Pritt
Irene Mione Pritt, 60, a resident of the Berlin community near Weston, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born Dec. 29, 1941, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the daughter of Causbie Campbell Messenger of Centre Hall, Pa., and the late William Pritt.
Surviving are five children, Bonnie Gifford, Buckhannon, Daniel Pritt, Pittsburgh, Pa., Debra Pritt, William Pritt Jr. and Cindi Pritt, all of Cleveland, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Messenger, Centre Hall, Pa., and Richard Messenger of Pittsburgh, Pa.
She was a homemaker, a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church of Buckhannon and attended the New Life Southern Baptist Church in Weston.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Tomblyn-Whitescarver Funeral Chapel where funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday. Pastor Robert Perrine will officiate and interment will follow in the Peterson Cemetery in Weston. From 31 Oct 2002.

Mary H. Pritt
Mary Helen Collett Pritt, 85, a lifelong resident of the Files Creek community, Beverly, passed away at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at her home. She had been in failing health for the past several years and critically ill for the past six months.
She was born Aug. 23, 1917, at Beverly, a daughter of the late Henry Lee and Laura Jane Pritt Collett.
On Jan. 28, 1939, she was married to Bernard L. Pritt, who preceded her in death on June 17, 1984.
She is survived by one daughter, Wanda L. Pritt, with whom she made her home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert G. Pritt and wife, Carolene and H. Kenneth Pritt and wife, Brenda, all of Beverly; four grandchildren, Donnie Pritt and wife Elizabeth, of Beverly, Derrick Pritt and wife, Hollie, of Montrose, Angela Ward and husband, Brad, of Aurora, Colo., and Jeff Pritt of Beverly; five great-grandchildren, Dakota Lee Pritt, Jacob Issac Pritt, Brooke Ashleigh Pritt, Dallas Haley Ward and Morgan Taylor Ward; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Pritt was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by one daughter, Helen Marie Pritt; and six brothers, Glen, Earl, Okey, Albert, Ray and Wilson Collett.
Mrs. Pritt attended the schools of Randolph County and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and the Ladies Missionary Society. She had served as secretary of the Sunday School for several years and had organized and cooked numerous church dinners, helped with fund raisers, taught Sunday school, participated in church plays, sang in the church choir and held every office in the Missionary Society.

Roy L. Pritt
Roy Lee Pritt, 61, a lifelong resident of Mingo Run, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at 10 p.m. at his residence. He had been in failing health since February, and death was attributed to cancer.
He was born April 20, 1941, in Mingo, a son of Burly M. Pritt, who survives at Mingo, and the late Mary Lindsay Pritt.
On Dec. 24, 1964, he was united in marriage to the former Betty Lou McCloud, who survives at Mingo.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mike (Bonnie Lou) Fike of Valley Head; two sons, Ricky L. Pritt and wife, Julie, of Huttonsville, Jeff L. Pritt and wife, Cheryl, of Mill Creek; four sisters, Ruby Ware of Anmore, Mrs. Earl (Hazel) Boylan of Rock Cave, Mrs. Ronnie (Edna) Lemasters of Huttonsville, Mrs. Ronald (Opal) McCloud of Valley Head; and four grandchildren, Brandon Pritt, Elizabeth Paige Pritt, John Beale III and Kaleah Pritt. Also surviving are four stepgrandchildren, Brian Daniels, Erika Fike, Derrick Fike and Kelsey Wyss; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death besides his mother was one brother, Harry Pritt.
He was a woodsman and a logger, having worked for Johnson’s Logging, retiring in January of 2002. He was formerly employed by the HW & C Coal Co. in Philippi. He had also worked at Liggets Supply in Mill Creek. He was an avid hunter.
He attended Brady Gate Church and was a Protestant by faith.
Friends will be received at F.E. Runner Funeral Home today after 6 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from the Runner chapel Tuesday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Gerald Hamrick of Webster Springs will officiate. Interment will follow at Mingo Cemetery in Mingo. The F.E. Herbert N. Propst
Herbert Nathan "Jiggs" Propst, 87, of Brownton, moved to heaven at 2:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, in UHC Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born March 24, 1915, in Overfield, the son of the late Daniel T. Propst and Florence Bly Jenkins Propst.
On Sept. 27, 1945, he married the former Sylvia Galford, who preceded him in death on Jan. 26, 1997.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Randall and Carolyn Charlton, Brownton; two grandchildren, Timothy Charlton, Abingdon, England, and Amanda Charlton, Wilmington, Del.; three sisters, Oleta Bergman, San Marcos, Texas, Joanna Knight, Cleveland, Ohio, and LeEllen D’Anselmi, Clarksburg; and one brother, Everett Propst, Buckhannon.
He was also preceded in death by one grandson, William Matthew Charlton; four brothers, Carl Daniel, Dorsey S., Clarence Lee and Howard J. Propst; and four sisters, Abbie Adams, Nettie Adams, Gladys Propst and Margaret Knight.
Mr. Propst was a retired coal miner. He served in the U.S. Army 5 1/2 years and was with the First Armored Division during World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 410 of Belington.
He was Church of God by faith. He enjoyed working on the construction of the Victory Valley Church at Rosemont in 1997.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St. in Philippi after noon Sunday. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Patty Post officiating. Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Cemetery with American Legion Post 44 conducting military rites. From 26 Oct 2002.

Clementa Proudfoot
Clementa Rose Proudfoot, 74, died suddenly Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, in Hopemont Hospital, Terra Alta, after a long illness.
She was born Dec. 10, 1928, a daughter of the late John H. and Clementa Cole Proudfoot.
Surviving is one sister, Caroly P. Cox, Spring Hill, Fla.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Charlotte J. Booth and Mary Grace Wilmoth; and one brother, John H. Proudfoot Jr.
Ms. Proudfoot was a graduate of Alderson-Broaddus College and acquired a degree as a lab technician and served as head lab technician for many years in Myers Clinic and Broaddus Hospital.
She was author of a book in which she wrote about many residents of her hometown.
She was a faithful member of the Philippi United Methodist Church.   From 27 Dec 2002.

Ullwin N. Pugh
Ullwin N. Pugh, 76, of Hacker Valley, passed away July 27, 2002, following a reoccurring battle with leukemia.
He was born May 17, 1926, the second son of the late Elmer M. and Clara Goff Pugh.
A lifelong resident of Webster County, he graduated from Webster Springs High school with the class of 1944. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a retired poultry farmer, truck driver and logging contractor.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Willa Bickel Pugh; two daughters, Debby Stone of Buckhannon, and Doretta Osburn of Hurricane; one son, Woody Pugh of Webster Springs; one granddaughter, Lauren Osburn of Hurricane; one grandson, Adam Stone of Buckhannon; one sister, Leta Payne of Raleigh, N.C.; and one brother, Wendell Pugh of Berkeley Springs.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Dr. Donzal Pugh.
Friends may call Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home in Webster Springs. Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hacker Valley Cemetery in Hacker Valley. From 31 July 2002.

Mark A. Putlovis
Mark Anthony "PJ" Putlovis, 41, of Davis, passed away Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.
He was born March 11, 1961, in Parsons, a son of the late Adam Stanley and Roberta Jane Adams Putlovis.
In 1994, he married Melanie Dawn Knotts.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Zachery Ryan Putlovis; one daughter, Megan Nicole Putlovis; four brothers, Ronnie Putlovis, Arab, Ala., Steve Thomas Putlovis, Coketon, Eddie Putlovis, Davis, and Jimmy Wilfong, Coketon; four sisters, Linda Lou Stanley, Cleveland, Ohio, Mary Elizabeth Ball, Horse Shoe Run, Helen Dunphy, Coketon, and Vicky Lynn Sharp, Cabins; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Mark Adam Putlovis.
He had worked as a building maintenance mechanic at Blackwater Falls State Park for 22 years. He was a member of FOE No. 936 and the Davis and Thomas VFD.
Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home today from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Hinkle Funeral Chapel Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jeff Winter officiating. Debra Lea Pyles
Debra Lea Pyles, 45, of HC 82, Marlinton, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, in a one-car accident on Beaver Creek.
She was born in Elkins on May 23, 1957, the daughter of Lois Cooper Davis of Marlinton and the late John Davis.
Mrs. Pyles was a member of the Cummins Creek Victory Chapel and the Cummins Creek Victory Chapel Ladies Circle.
Surviving are her husband, Lonnie Wayne Pyles; two daughters, Tina K. Pyles of Covington, Va., and Natasha Katie Marie Pyles, at home; a son, Joseph Wayne Pyles, at home; four sisters, Carol Simmons of Elkins, Patty Cooper of Morgantown, Helen Hankins of Missouri and Peggy Underwood of Manassas, Va.; and a brother, Richard Davis of Baltimore, Md.
Funeral services were held Dec. 7 at the VanReenen Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Norman Alderman. Burial was in the Pyles Promise-Land Cemetery. From 11 Dec 2002.
