BIRCHFIELD, JOHN HENRY: I have a
newspaper article from The Washington Herald, Sept. 6, 1907, byline
Keyser, West Virginia that states John Henry BIRCHFIELD had just
died at Coxes Landing and was the oldest resident of West Virginia,
his age being one hundred nine. He was my great-grandfather (I am
eighty-six) and I don't think this information is accurate. Most
records say he was born in 1814 in North Carolina, however he did
not always give his correct age to the census takers. I suspect that
he is buried in the Kyle Cemetery but have never found a stone. A
Huntington paper should have been the original publisher if any of
it is true. Any clues? Thank you.

STEPHENS, JAMES: I am searching
for information about James STEPHENS, father of John Beaver Stephens
and Jesse Stephens. He was married to Polly. John Beaver was born in
or about 1812 in Kentucky and died in Wayne County, West Virginia
about 1890. Jesse was born about 1820 in Kentucky and died in
Elliott County, Kentucky about 1890. James may have lived in Morgan
County, Kentucky at the time of the 1850 census. If so, he was born
about 1769. Any information greatly appreciated.

LeTULLE, VICTOR: I am looking for
information on Victor LeTULLE and his family. He lived at 268 Guyan
Street in Guyandotte, Virginia. He died in 1853. He is buried in the
Huntington Cemetery. I am trying to find information on his son,
Louis, who was born in Honfleur, France. He married a Susan McMahan
in Lawrence County, Ohio. Louis is the father of Victor D. LeTulle
who went to Texas. Louis may have died sometime between 1837 and
1845. His wife remarried a Walton. There is a submission in the
KYOWVA book that I bought by a Waldo Walton. I would also like any
information on this family as they may have a clue about where Louis
and Susan are buried and when they died.

WINEBRENNER: My grandfather was William
WINEBRENNER and his brother was James Winebrenner, both were in the
Civil War but James name came up on your newsletter or Books and Notes
Vol 53, re: an oral history recorded in 1930 of James at Cedar Creek
and Gettysburg. I am writing for a copy with a check for that newsletter
but since you have inquiries I thought I would ask about your process
and cost etc., having just read Co. Aycht-a Confederate Privates Memoirs,
I would love to track and visit more of James actual history.

BOSTER: I hope that my understanding
of the "KYOWVA" term means that it will involve some background on the
people from Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia. I am particularly interested
in the BOSTER Family from Cabell County in West Virginia. Carl Reynolds
Boster born April 6, 1917 (the year is a guess, but close) is of particular
interest. He married Betsy (Lewis) Boster born October 12, 1926.
