Confederate Cemetery

The remains of 95 unknown Confederate soldiers from the Battle of Lewisburg, fought May 23, 1862, lie in this cross-shaped common grave. Initially interred at the Old Stone Church, these unclaimed dead were reburied in this cemetery a few years after the battle. The grave has an upright 80 feet long and cross arms of 40 feet.
