Welcome to
Anglesey

Part of the WalesGenWeb Project

Separated from the mainland by the Menai Strait, the Island of Anglesey is a very beautiful and historic part of Wales, renowned for its lovely countryside, castles, sandy coves and, of course, the most famous village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, which has the longest name in Britain!. If you have any ideas or suggestions of links that you would like to see on this website then please email Jayne Primmer, County Coordinator. Queries relating to specific families should go to the Query Forum.

We now have a section on Homepages, so if you have a homepage relating to your Anglesey genealogy and would like a link to it on this site, please email me with details.

"The Roman Invasion of Anglesey" and "Agricola and the final invasion of Anglesey", written by John Griffiths Quote: "Some military historians have argued that the murderous attack on Anglesey in AD60 could be likened to butchery whilst history itself records that the assault on the island was particularly vicious, with little quarter given..." Quote: "The island was already well known to Agricola; history would record that it would also remember him."

Mysterious Wales, hosted by Elwyn Jones Quote: "Welcome to Mysterious Wales. Join me on a journey through its ancient history.
