Federal census records are not official documents. They are government surveys only. Accuracy in collecting information is the ultimate goal, but not mandated by law, so researchers will find errors and deficiencies in the original documents.
This index is transcribed as carefully as possible by RITA , directly from the microfilmed pages of the original census.
As with all indexes, it is a guide for family researchers and should not take the place of  the original document.
It is always  good to consult the original document before adding information permanently to research.
