The Dunn County Genealogical
Society was organized in 1993 and met in various places in the county. In January 2000, the society was invited to
meet at the new Dunn County Historical Society Museum in Wakanda Park.
Next to the meeting room at the museum is now a
genealogy library which was established with funding from the Ranney family.
Purpose:
The purpose of the Dunn County
Genealogical Society is to collect and preserve records of area settlers.
We will assist others in learning how to research their family
history with emphasis on materials in our library. We will do limited
research for others by mail. Contact the society for further information.
Meetings:
Meetings are regularly held 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon
at the Russell
J. Rassbach/Dunn County Historical Museum in Wakanda Park, Menomonie
the third Saturday of each month. Doors open at 9:15 for an
opportunity to do research. Programs include guest speakers, videos,
workshops and fieldtrips.
The society genealogy library is open to the public for research
every Friday from noon until 4 p.m. We ask for a $2 donation, plus
copy charges.
