On November 26, 1790, Patrick
County, Virginia
was formed from, Henry County, Virginia. |
Patrick County was created in 1791 (by
an act of Virginia Assembly passed on November 26, 1790, to become effective
on June 1, 1791) when Henry County was divided in two. The name comes from
Patrick Henry, first governor of the Commonwealth.
