Mazie M. Yowell
Mazie M. Yowell, 88, of
Culpeper, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at Culpeper Regional Hospital. Born
August 25, 1913, in Slate Mills, she was a daughter of the late Arnold Weakley
and Sarah K. Hawkins Weakley. Mrs. Yowell was a member of Novum Baptist Church,
a wife, mother and grandmother who loved her home, cooking and flowers. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester B.
Yowell; three brothers, Raymond, Carroll and Walter B. Weakley and a sister,
Mary Elizabeth Campbell.
Surviving are four children, Lester A., Evelyn M. and Randolph B. Yowell, all of
Culpeper and Mary Louise Jenkins of Brightwood; four grandsons, David A. Yowell,
Donald W. Yowell and his companion, Debbie Breeden and Edward Lee Yowell and his
wife, Laurie, all of Culpeper and Jason R. Yowell of Ruckersville and two
great-granddaughters, Rayna Marie and Amanda Jean Yowell.
A funeral service was held May 4 at Found and Sons Chapel with Pastor Jeff Light
officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David A., Donald W., Edward L. and Jason R. Yowell, Charles
Henry Weakley and James Marvin Jenkins.
