Odie B. Smith, Jr.
Odie Breckenridge Smith, Jr. of
Brightwood, died Thursday, April 25, 2002, at his residence. Mr. Smith was a son
of the late Odie Breckenridge Smith, Sr. and Gertie Cubbagge Smith. He was a
retired self-employed logger and an Army veteran of the Korean War. In addition
to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James H. and Edward C.
Smith and four sisters, Zannis Tindall, Jessie S. Leathers, Bessie Smith and
Leona S. Pense.
Survivors include his wife, Jane B. Smith and a son, Jodie Breckenridge Smith,
both of Brightwood; a brother, Thomas O. Smith of Madison and two sisters, Annie
Belle Nicholson of Madison and Dorothy Sessoms and husband, Clay, of Orange
Park, Florida.
A funeral service was held April 28, at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel, Madison,
with Pastor Josh Shifflett officiating. Interment was in Etlan Cemetery.
