Five hundred and eighteen 518) acres of land sold to A. J. Simpkins.
Lying in the County of Montgomery on the south side of Little
River and near the same, and on Sugar Run branch, a branch of
Little River, and bounded as follows. Beginning at three Buckeye
Saplings on the south side of a road, about two poles North of
Sugar run branch, and one half of a pole south of a Spring, and
running N 60 1/2 E 24 poles to a Stake in the centre of said road,
standing S 54 E 15 links from an apple tree, thence with the centre
of said road, N 68 E 16 poles, S 78 E 6 poles, S 56 E 6 poles,
S 18 E 9 poles to a Sycamore on the west bank of Sugar run branch
about two poles west of the fork of said branch, thence running
nearly with said branch, S 2 E 15 poles to a forked Ash on the
east bank of said branch, S 21 W 35 1/2 poles to a large Sugar
tree on the west bank of the branch, S 45 W 30 poles, (leaving
the branch at 20 poles) to a small forked Maple by a Spring east
of the well Spring branch about two poles, & about Six poles
south east of the mouth of said branch, thence running up said
branch, and nearly with the branch, S 11 W 20 poles to a Buckeye
on the east side of said branch, S 6 E 19 1/4 poles, to a large
Red oak one pole east of the branch S 21 W 30 1/2 poles to a large
white oak about two poles west of the branch corner to Beckleheimer
& with the same leaving the branch S 77 1/2 W 18 1/2 poles,
to a Pine & white oak on the south side of a hill, S 87 3/4
W 198 1/2 poles to a Hickory on top of a ridge, N 5 3/4 W 97 poles
(crossing sugar run at 43 poles; to a Stake on the south side
of a hill corner also, to R Miller & with the same, N 25 W
35 poles to large Pine on top of a hill, N 44 E 104 poles to a
Stone in cleared land about 15 poles, South west of a graveyard,
corner to S now & with the same S 14 E 27 poles to a Pine
on top of the river hill, S 32 3/4 E 83 poles to a large white
oak on the south east side of a hill, N 83 E 87 poles to a large
white oak on top of the river hill, thence down a very steep hill,
N 7 E 20 poles to a Small forked Buckeye near the river bank,
about 4 poles south of the mouth of sugar Run branch, & on
the south side of a road, thence N 69 E 23 3/4 poles to the beginning.
