This Harman letter is a typed transcription of the original letter dated Jan. 7, 1860, from Katherine Harman to her son, David
Herbert Harman (or Hall?). The letter is three pages in length and she encourages her son to seek a career in the ministry. It is
written with old fashion text, using terms such as 'thee' for her son and refers to famous people such as Washington, Clay and Webster.
