This summons somehow survived the fire that destroyed the King and Queen County
Court House in 1865. It was found in the Circuit Clerk's Office in the old chancery
cases files in box 12 and apparently is a part of a chancery case brought by John W. Schools et als.

To the Sheriff of King and Queen County Greeting:
You are hereby commanded to summon Solomon G. Schools and Eliza his wife who was Eliza Schools, Sally A. Schools, Newton Henry Schools, Nathan Waller Schools, and Thomas Edward Schools children of Nathan P. Schools and Waller G. Schools the five last infants under the age of 21 year
to appear at the clerks office of our circuit court of King and Queen county, at the rules to be holden for the said court, on the first Monday in March next, to answer a bill in chancery, exhibited against them in the said court, by John W. Schools and others
And this shall in no wise omit, under the penalty L100 each And have then there this writ
Witness, Robert Pollard Jr. Clerk of our said Court, at the courthouse, the 19th day of February 1857 and in the 81st year of our foundation.
