This will somehow survived the fire that destroyed the King and Queen County
Court House in 1865. It was found in the Circuit Clerk's Office in the old chancery
cases files in box 12.
I Rebecca Schools of the county of King and Queen do make and ordain my last will and testament. I wish my land warrant for 120 acres in the hands of Humphrey Brooke my agent issued to me under act of congress of March 3rd 1855 as widow of Waller Schools to be collected by my benefactor and out of the money arising from the sale thereof all my just debts to be paid. I bequith to my son Waller S. Schools my bed, under bed, covers and pillows, and my woolen (?)countershaw, also my ox cart, and crops of every description and my pork. I bequith to my daughter Rebecca P. Taylor all my wearing apparel. The remainder of my household and kitchen furniture consisting of bed clothing, towels, chairs, earthenware, two lounges, pots, (?)shiders, and wood ware, also my stock of hogs and poultry and whatever may be my portion due the Estates of my daughter Mary Catherine and Elizabeth Schools(?) due and whatever other estate I may have I leave to be equally divided between my sons Waller G. Schools and my daughter Rebecca P. Taylor. I wish Temple Taylor to qualify as executor of this my last will and testament without giving the security required by law.

This last will and testament of Rebecca Schools deceased was offered for proof and was prooved by the oaths of R.H. Pollard and Joseph S. Pollard the witnesses thereto subscribed and is ordered to be recorded.
