Patent of John Linch (1726)

George &c To All &c Whereas &c We have given granted and Confirmed and by these presents for us our heirs and Successors do give grant and Confirm unto John Linch of Brunswick County One Certain Tract or parcell of Land Containing Two hundred Acres lying and being on the South Side of Maherin Rier in the County of Brunswick aforesaid and bounded as followeth (to wit) Beginning at a Red Oak on Maherin River a Corner Tree of Micall Walls Thence along the Said Walls line South fifty two degrees West sixty eight pole to a hiccory Thence South sixty seven degrees West Twenty four pole to a Red Oak Thence South eight degrees West ninety four pole to a Gum on the Side of the falling Run Thence up the various Courses of the Said Run to a White Oak Thence North forty degrees East twenty six pole to a Red Oak a Corner Tree of Majr. Mumfords Thence along Mumfords line North thirty nine degrees East two hundred and twenty pole to a hiccory at the head of a Branch Thence down the Branch to Maherin River and down the River to the beginning With All &c To have hold &c To be held &c Yielding and paying &c provided &c Witness Our Trusty and Welbeloved Robert Carter Esqr. President of Our Council and Comander in Chief of Our Said Colony and Dominion at Williamsburgh under the Seal of Our Said Colony the Thirty first day of October one Thousand Seven hundred and Twenty six in the Thirteenth year of our Reign.
