BUCKINGHAM
COUNTY MARRIAGES - Mrs. Dorothy M. "Mavis" Wise, has provided us
with her compilation of Buckingham Co, VA, marriages (1786-1797), as performed
by Rev. Rene Chastain. [I have sorted these, by grooms name and added an
index to brides surnames] These were found throughout his diary published
as part of Buckingham County, Va - Church and Marriage Records 1764-1822,
compiled and abstracted by Mary Bondurant Warren. The author of the book
states that the diary is on deposit at KY Hist. Soc.

THE DOSS FAMILY ASSOCIATION has compiled a database on thousands
of Doss family members across America. We have mostly sorted out the
Buckingham/Appomattox Co. Doss families. We are happy to share all our
information with any Doss descendant. We also publishaquarterly newsletter,
sent to all members. Currently we are planning a reunion for all Doss descendants
to be held in May 1997 in the Danville or Lynchburg area. It will be preceded
by a four-day bus tour of areas of Virginia where Doss families lived prior
to the Revolution (including Buckingham Co.) Membership in the Association
is $15 per year. Everyone is invited to contact us for our information relating
