CRAWFORD, Joyce Scaggs, 68, of Troutville, passed away at home on Friday, October 17, 2003, surrounded by the love of her family. She is predeceased by her parents, Oakley H. and Grace Beemer Scaggs. She is survived by her faithful husband of 47 years, Larry L. Crawford, Sr.; her son, L. Lewis Crawford and wife, Cindy; grandsons, Jermiah A. and Jacob N. Crawford; sisters, Marlies Brantley and husband, Duie, of Williamsburg, Carol Faye Waddell and husband, S.R. of Troutville, and Connie Ruth Scaggs of Roanoke; brothers, V.H. Zeke Scaggs and wife Marie of Christiansburg, Freddie E. Scaggs and wife Inez of Salem and Rudolph J. Scaggs and wife Iva of Cloverdale; aunt, Louise Wray of Roanoke; uncle, Bernie Beemer and wife Frances of Salem; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. Friends are welcome to call Monday, October 20, 2003, from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Rd., Daleville where a service celebrating Joyce's life will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2003, at 11 a.m. in Rader's Chapel with the Rev. Stuart Kelley and Pastor Bill Hinton officiating. Interment will follow in Troutville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The National Parkinson's Foundation, 1501 NW 9th Ave., Bob Hope Rd., Miami, Fla. 33136-1494.
