Welcome to the home page of the Bermuda
Hundred Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American
Revolution.
Our Chapter was organized on May 2, 1931, in
Chester, Virginia. Our Chapter was named for the town of Bermuda
Hundred. The town of Bermuda Hundred was established in 1613, by Sir
Thomas Dale. It became the first incorporated community English America in 1614.
Bermuda Hundred was home to John Rolfe, Colony Recorder, who married
Pocahontas. The Rev. Alexander Whitaker ministered here. Bermuda Hundred was
an early port of Richmond.
In 2006, Bermuda Hundred was placed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register.
Our members are active in Richmond,
Chesterfield, Henrico and surrounding communities.
The Society's objectives are historical
preservation, promotion of education, and patriotic endeavors.
