Amherst - Evelyn Garner Nicholas, 72, of 506 North Main St. died
Sunday, March 6, 1988, in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was
the wife of Cary I. (Hap) Nicholas.
Born March 13, 1915, in Amherst County, she was a daughter of
the late Wesley Tucker and Rose Schaar Garner. She was a retired
teacher from the public school system, having taught in Amherst
and Campbell County. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist
Church and a member and past matron of the Amherst Chapter 115
Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her husband she is survived by one daughter, Mrs.
Harold (Barbara Rose) Woody and one grandson, Robert W. (R. W.)
Woody, both of Madison Heights.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 3 P. M. Wednesday at Driskell
Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James C. Sprouse officiating. Burial
will follow in Amherst Cemetery.
The Family will receive friends at the chapel from 7 to 9 P. M.
this evening.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Amherst Rescue Squad
or Emmanuel United Methodist Church.

Reva Modell Lawhorne Bryant
AMHERST - Reva Modell Lawhorne Bryant, 82, died Sunday, July 3,
2005, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of 64 years
of David Dameron Bryant.
Born Sept. 30, 1922, in Amherst County, she was a daughter of
the late Mel and Bessie Schaar Lawhorne. She was a member of the
Wesleyan United Methodist church.
She is survived by a son, Garry Bryant and wife, Ronda, of Amherst;
two daughters, Linda Andrews and husband, William, of Lynchburg
and Margie Craig and husband, C.R. (Sprue) of Lowesville; 11 grandchildren
and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son,
David Leroy Bryant.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 A.M., Tuesday, July 5, 2005,
at Driskill Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jeffrey Campbell and
the Rev. Allan Monfils officiating. Burial will follow in the
Amherst Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 P.M. today at the
chapel.

David Dameron Bryant
AMHERST - David Dameron Bryant, 89, died Monday, April 4, 2005,
at his residence. He was the husband of Reva Modell Lawhorne Bryant
for 64 years.
Born Dec. 5, 1915, in Amherst County, he was a son of the late
Charles Wesley and Daisy Lawhorne Bryant. He was a member of Wesleyan
United Methodist Church.
He is also survived by a son, Garry Bryant and wife, Ronda of
Amherst; two daughters, Linda Andrews and husband, William of
Lynchburg and Margie B. Craig and husband, C.R. (Sprue) of Lowesville;
a brother, William Scott Bryant and wife, Hazel of Spotsylvania;
13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded
in death by a son, David Leroy Bryant.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Wednesday, April

Benjamin "Ben" Franklin Cash
Benjamin "Ben" Franklin Cash, 28, of Madison Heights,
passed away May 6, 2004, at The University of Virginia.
Born May 8, 1975, he was a son of Ernest Eugene Cash Sr. and Edna
Lawhorne Cash.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Ben worked at the Texas Inn as a cook for over 10 years.
In addition to his parents, Ben is survived by his wife Ann Cash
and their son Dallas Dwayne Cash of Rustburg; two brothers, Earnest
Cash Jr. and wife, Trisha, of Madison Heights and Edgar Cash and
wife, Evelyn, of Hurt; four sisters, Lisa Cash and husband, Greg,
Cynthia Cash Diaz and husband, Jimmy, Wendy Scott and Dorothy
Scott, all of Madison Heights; nine nieces and nine nephews; numerous
other relatives and friends who loved him.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. at Whitten Monelison
Chapel by the Rev. James Cook. Interment will be in Lawhorne Shaws
Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. today at the
funeral home and at other times at the residence.
