Utah county was created in 1852 as an original county. Census records for this county include the 1856 Utah Territorial census, as well as the 1860, 1870, 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920, and 1930 census records. Researchers with family members who arrived in Utah state at an early date may also wish to check the 1850 Federal census and 1851 Territorial census. Some counties existed then that no longer exist today, so be sure to browse through the entire census if you are sure your ancestors were early pioneers.
Birth and Death registration
was not required by the state until 1905. However, many counties have birth,
and sometimes death, records for the period 1898-1905. These records are
sparse and many times lacking in information, but worth checking out. Also
be sure to check out town records for information on paupers, pauper burials,
crimes, fines, and all that interesting stuff. Microfilms can be ordered
