DUP Obituary Scrapbook (1933-1939)
PARAGONAH -- Funeral services for Mary M. Barton Stone, 71, lifelong
resident of Paragonah, were held Monday in the L. D. S. ward chapel, under
direction of Bishop K. Doyer Robinson. Interment was in the city cemetery.
Mrs. Stone died at the family residence at 2 p. m. Saturday. She was born
here September 3, 1866, a daughter of Joseph P. and Eliza Anderson Barton.
On October 8, 1886, she was married to Daniel Stone in the St. George L.D.S.
temple.
She had been active in the L. D. S. church, having served as president,
counselor, and secretary of the Y. L. M. I. A.; president, counselor and
secretary of the L. D. S. Relief society; president of the Primary
department; president of Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and was assistant ward
clerk at the time of her death.
Surviving are her husband and the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Eva
Beard, Milford; Mrs. Isa Prothero and Amasa and Wendel Stone, Paragonah, and
eight grandchildren.
