James C. Simkins, a retired Bell Telephone Co. employee of San Diego, Calif. and a frequent
visitor to the Nevada hills, was found dead in his pickup camper at Pipe Springs near
Manhattan, Tuesday. Coroner Thos. R. McCulloch investigated the death which apparently
occurred from natural causes.
Simkins, who had been camping in the Manhattan area for several weeks, was born in
Cedar City, Utah Nov. 29, 1896. He was a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by three sisters, including Mrs. Marie Kopp of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Funeral arrangements at Logan-Carlson mortuary in Tonopah are pending arrival of
relatives.
