PAROWAN.--Services were held here today for Freeman Warren Pendleton, 83.
who died at his home Tuesday night at 10:45.
A life-long resident of Parowan, Mr. Pendleton has played an active part
in the many activities of its community life. He served as a school board
member, city councilman, constable, coroner and was a high priest in the
Church. He was an expert gunsmith.
He was born March 23, 1855, in Parowan, a son of Dr. Calvin C. and Sarah
Ann Newberry Pendleton. He was educated in the Parowan schools.
Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Walter Stubbs, Mrs. Ida
Halterman, Mabel Pendleton, F. Warren; John H. and Woodruff Pendleton all of
Parowan; Mrs. F. C. Van Buren. Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. H. H. Crowe, Salt
Lake City and Rulon S. Pendleton, Cedar City; brothers and sisters, William
W. Pendleton and Mrs. Sarah P. Connell, Parowan; Mark A. and Adella
Pendleton, Salt Lake City; 44 grandchildren and 33 grandchildren.
