KANARRAVILLE--Funeral services for Charles Parker, 81, early settler
of Kanarraville, were conducted Saturday in the Kanarra L. D. S. ward
chapel. Burial took place in the local cemetery.
Mr. Parker died May 15 at the home of his son, John Davis Parker,
of Kanarraville, of causes incident to age.
He was born in Centerville December 30. 1853, a son of John Davis
and Sophia Almedia Roundy Parker. He served in the Black Hawk Indian war
under Captain Lorenzo Roundy. He assisted in the construction and
settlement of the old Kanarra fort, now the town of Kanarraville.
His wife. Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Davis Parker, died in 1927.
Surviving are four sons and five daughters, Charles Jr., John Davis
and Cecil Ray Parker and Mrs. Ahlena Williams, all of Kanarraville;
Mrs. Zina Pollock, Mrs. Esther Robb and Mrs. Laura Wood, all of Salt
Lake City; Mrs. Sophia Stapley, Castlegate. and Bruce F. Parker, now
in Tarkwa, Gold Coast. West Africa; 38 grandchildren and ten
great-grandchildren.
