PAROWAN--Funeral services were held in the Parowan West ward Friday at
2 p.m. for Daniel Ritchie Page, 75, who died at his residence Wednesday.
Mr. Page with his brother Robert pioneered the mining of the Pinto Iron
mountain and he still owns the Homestake mine at Pinto. He was born in Salt
Lake, May 27, 1858, but spent most of his life in Pinto and Parowan.
Funeral speakers were Bishop Hugh L. Adams, William Marsden, William L.
Evans and S. C. Mortensen. Tributes were read by Mrs. Melinda M. Adams.
Surviving Mr. Page are his wife, Cecelia Evans Page, and the following
children: Robert A. Page, Mrs. Amy Knell, of Newcastle; Gerry Page, of
Pinto; John G. Page, of Parowan; Mrs. E. R. Higbee, of Cedar City; Mrs. P.
J. Tullock, of Eckville, Canada, and Mrs. Heber E. Smith of Pinto.
