JOSEPH MICKELSON, Parowan; active Church worker, died at the Iron County
Hospital Saturday, pneumonia.
Was a farmer and stock raiser; born in Cedar City. May 1, 1856, son of
Rasmus and Annie Mickelson; married Eliza Gurr, April 3, 1878; after Mrs.
Mickelson's death, married Susan Meeks Miller; both marriages performed in
St. George Temple; seven children were born to the second union.
Only one brother, Rasmus Mickelson of Sanford, Colo. survives. Other
survivors include Mrs. Mickelson, the following children: Sliza Mortensen.
Delta; Joseph Edward Mickelson, Lovell, Wyo.; Lizzie Matheson, Parowan; John
Mickelson, Parowan; Lovina Redd. Monticello; Bessie Stubbs, Parowan: Jessie
M., Frank M., Lewis M., Mrs. Lorene Holm and Merril Mickelson. Parowan.
There are 52 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; also a foster son,
Douglas Miller.
Funeral services will probably be held Tuesday in the Parowan West Ward
chapel, direction, Bishop Hugh L. Adams. Interment will be the local
cemetery.
