John Hurd Lee, 78, Was Rancher, Miner in Early Days
Living at New Harmony, Kanarraville, and Toquerville until 1870,
the family moved to Virgin. Mr. Lee married Martha Titt of Washington,
Utah, in the St. George L. D. S. temple May 27, 1902, and had resided
here since. He established a ranch in lower Kolob west of Zion national
park where he spent much of his later life.
Surviving are two sons, Virgil E. and Buryl E. Lee, and a sister,
Mrs. Mariam Cornelius, both of Virgin, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were directed by Bishop Alma Flanigan, with
President William R. Palmer of Rarowan L. D. S. stake; James Jepson
of Hurricane, and Orin Reusch of Virgin as speakers.
Interment was in Virgin cemetery directed by the Southern Utah mortuary.
