Mary Alice Higbee Jones, 1 Mar 1863 - 1936

CEDAR CITY--Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Alice Jones, widow of State 
Senator Uriah T. Jones of Gedar City will be held in the Cedar Second ward 
chapel on Wednesday at 2 p.m.

    Mrs. Jones died Sunday at 9:30 p.m. in Salt Lake City at the home of her 
daughter, Mrs. Dolph Andrus, 1411 Denver street, of cerebral thrombosis.  She 
died on her seventy-third anniversary.

    Born in Cedar City, March 1. 1863, a daughter of John M. and Mary Clark 
Higbee she had been a lifetime resident here.  She was married to Mr. Jones 
in the St. George Temple in February, 1883.  With her husband, she was active 
for many years in church and civic activities.  Mrs. Jones was a member of 
the stake Primary board for many years and had been a counselor in her ward 
Relief Society.  Mr. Jones died seven years ago.

    Surviving are three sons and threo daughters:  Alma T. and Ashton Jones, 
Mrs. Zelma Lunt and Mrs. Abish J. Corry, all of Cedar City: Emeron Jones. 
Los Angeies, and Mrs. Andrus.  Twentv-six grandchildren and two 
great-grandchildren also survive.

    Interment will be in the Cedar City cemetery.
