The
Cuban Genealogical Society has been in existence since 1988, and has members all
over the United States. Our Society
is a non-profit organization, with the main goal of promoting the preservation,
study and research of Cuban genealogy and history.
From 1995 to 1999 the society was
inactive, not publishing the
REVISTA© or any other material.
Thanks to a few generous Cuban Americans willing to help with the
translations and other functions of the Society we were happy to be able to
reactivate starting in January of 2000. We
are publishing REVISTA©
three times a year, instead of four like it was previously done, to save on
printing and shipping costs. We invite all that have Cuban roots to send in family histories or articles about people or places to be published. These new and original material will enrich the content of REVISTA© and aid others in their search for information.
We
are collecting historical and genealogical information about Cuba that is widely
scattered around the country, in public libraries and private hands. As we
accomplish this, we benefit the members in their research, and preserve the
Cuban genealogical information. The computerization, makes the preservation of
this information a lasting accomplishment. The Cuban Genealogical Society is located in Salt Lake City, because this is the home of the biggest genealogical library in the world and the Society can better serve its members being close to a source of information as strong as the Family History Library.
