John and James Higgins
This WWI photo of seated John Higgins, age thirty, and
his brother James, age twenty-eight, was taken "somewhere" in
France during 1918. They were both in the US Army, and were
the sons of Patrick & Bridget (Diskin) Higgins of King Philip Street,
Fall River, MA. Patrick (1855-1929) was a tailor on South Main
Street in Fall River.
Lt. James Higgins
This WWI photo is of Lieutenant James Higgins
(1890-1977). In 1918, he was commissioned an officer in the US Army,
while serving at General Pershing's Headquarters at Chaumont in France. In
1922, he was the Grand Knight of Fall River Council #86 of the Knights of
Columbus. He was nominated for Postmaster of Fall River by
President Truman in Jun 1952.
James J. & Catherine E. (Logan) Higgins
Catherine E. Logan & James J. Higgins (pictured on the left) were married on 15 Jun 1925 in St Patrick's Church, Fall River, MA. Frances Connerton-Reinhart was matron of honor. John Higgins was best man for his brother.
