This is all that consists of the Varner Cemetery, one four-sided tombstone that slopes to a point with a Holy Bible in stone at the top. The tombstone is inscribed on three sides. W. H. Varner on the East; wife, Elizabeth Varner to the North; and daughter, Theadosia on the West side. The Varner Cemetery is located on private property (in a field) between Maysfield and Branchville, Texas. To reach this site from Cameron, drive North on US Hwy 77 to FM 485. Turn right on FM 485 East past Maysfield to CR 255 East. Turn left on to CR 255 East to Backwoods Road. Turn left on Backwoods Road for about a mile. The cemetery is in the pasture to the North on a hill above String Creek.
