WEBSITE AWARDS

 

The purpose of this award is to encourage our Partner Societies and individual members to promote genealogy and history on the world wide web, sharing information, and servicing our global communities. 

There are three categories for these awards:
            Category  I:    Web site for a Partner Society
            Category II:   Web site for an individual member’s genealogy and family history.
            Category III:  Web site by an individual member of a general genealogy or historical nature, not specifically on the member’s family but a county web page or a DNA study.

Basic requirements include individual or partner society membership for the current year 2008.  The TSGS logo should be displayed on the web site with a link to the TSGS website.  The same web site may only enter in one category.  The National Genealogy Society’s Guidelines for Publishing Web Pages on the Internet should be followed.  The guidelines can be found at: http://www.ngsgenealogy.org/comstandweb.cfm

Awards include $100 for first place $75 for second place, and $50 for third place in each category.  A panel of three judges will evaluate the entries.  Criteria will include web site design, navigation, contents, and customization.

Deadline for entries is September 15, 2008.  Entry should include a cover letter from the individual member or partner society with a contact person’s name, telephone, web site address, and email address.  The entry should include the category for judging, comments about the web site and descriptions of any special features that should be noted.
