*If you buy one of Ed Cotham's books ahead of time, and bring it to the meeting on January 10, 2009, Ed will autograph it for you. He will also have books for sale at the meeting.

*Private Warren W. White served with the 44th Regiment, U.S. Colored Troops during the Civil War, and then after the Civil War he became a member of the Buffalo Soldiers. Private White's grave was recently found by great-great-great-grandson Steven Holmes in an old cemetery in Bastrop, Texas, and this past May 10, 2008 Steven along with other members of the Lt. Cmdr. Edward Lea USN Camp #2 placed U.S. Military Marker at his grave. [See the Harriet Lane Newsletter, June, 2008, Camp newsletter for more about the ceremony]
