Five or six burials of adults and children, all European
immigrants
This cemetery was located between the Schultz
home (across the highway from the store in New Baden) and the
Brown Cemetery #2. No burials are
apparent at this site today. It was located about where the red "x" is on
TopoZone Map or at about 31 02 59 N / - 96 25 36 W.
Elizabeth Christina "Lizzie" Pfistner
(Mrs. John Gerhard Sr.) Rabe, in the
New Baden chapter of John Walter Baker's book History of
Robertson County, states that: "One of her saddest memories is that of the colonists having to move the
community cemetery because surface water came above the ground."
