Biographical Sketches - Z

ZEIGLER, CAROL D.,  son of Roy Zeigler and Allene Perryman Zeigler, was born July 3, 1929 at Gatesville, Texas.  His father was born in 1898 and was a life-long resident of Coryell County, Texas.  He married Allene Perryman in in 1923.
    Carol D. Zeigler attended the Gatesville public schools and was graduated from Gatesville High School with the Class of 1946.  He attended the University of Texas and received his B. S. Degree in Civil Engineering in 1951.
    In January 1951 he entered the U. S. Air Force and attended OCS and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in March 1952.  He served in Korea on airfield construction.  He received his discharge from military service in October 1953.  During the summers of 1948 and 1949 he was employed as a rodman with the Texas Highway Department and after his discharge from military service he was permanently employed by this department in November 1953.
    In November 1953 he moved to Hearne, Texas where he was employed as an engineering assistant in the office of the Resident Engineer' of the Texas Highway Department.  He was promoted to Resident Engineer at Hearne, Texas in June 1956, and took charge of the Hearne Residency in March 1957.
    Carol D. Zeigler married Janell Haines, daughter of J. B. Haines and Lois Vannoy Haines of Gatesville, Texas, August 12, 1951. Janell Haines Zeigler attended the Arnett public school near Gatesville and later attended Gatesville High School where she graduated with the Class of 1944.  After completing high school she attended John Tarleton College.
    Carol D. Zeigler and Janell Haines Zeigler are members of the First Baptist Church.  He is a member of the Hearne Rotary Club; a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers; and a member of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers.
