- Researching LARSONS and WALKERS of Calhoun
County. NELS GEORGE LARSON, of Sweden and later Kansas,
settled in Calhoun County with his family about 1880. His
son, GEORGE LARSON, married my grandmother, VIRGIE
WALKER, also from Calhoun County. VIRGIE WALKERS father,
GEORGE THOMAS WALKER was reportly killed by lighting. I
have never been able to verify this or his place of
burial. GEORGE WALKER was killed at sea off Galveston on
a fishing boat during a storm. I have found both families
in the 1900 Federal Census. Would like any information on
any of the above, especially GEORGE THOMAS WALKER. The
Walker family came from Faulkner County, Arkansas and the
Larsons from Linsborg, Kansas. Will swap any information
I have. Thanks

- I am trying to locate information on the family
of JONN I. BERNARD (DOB 1850-1857) who lived in
Indianola, Texas in the mid 1800s. He later moved to
Burlington, Iowa, and then on to Grinnell, Iowa. He
married ELIZA JANE ALTIG from Burlington, Iowa, and then
possibly remarried AMANDA ANN VAN DEUSEN in Grinnell,
Iowa.

- I am looking for information on the BERNARD
family that lived in Indianola, Texas in the mid-1800s. I
noticed a Louis BERNARD listed in the 1870 census for
Indianola, and wonder if he was related to John I.
BERNARD of Indianola. Any information would be greatly
appreciated. .
