From the Introduction: "...The second volume was published for the express purpose of preserving the history of many of the county's older families....The original settler of each family had to have entered Burnet County prior to 1900 to be elegible. ...Also descendants of the original settler were recorded only through the third generation."

"...There are many other pioneer families, in addition to these 344, who could have been included, ...However, no information was received on these families prior to the May 1, 1979 deadline...It is anticipated that sometime in the future a volume three will be published, which will incude any families not included in volume two, plus families who entered the county during the next 50 years. All families in the county are urged to research and prepare information on each respective family, and to submit it to the Herman Brown Free Library of Burnet County at Burnet; There it will be filed for reference until such time as the data may be included in a possible additional volume."

The two volume set of Burnet County History is available for sale at the Herman Brown Free Library or Ft Croghan Museum. The volumes are also available for research use at the library or loan-out to county library card holders.
