A little COURTHOUSE HISTORY

Dresden is the County Seat of Weakley County. It was named after Dresden, Germany, the birthplace of Mears Warner's Father. Mears was the commissioner who came to layout the town. In April of 1825 a public sale of lots took place. There were 90 lots with a central block for the Court House. See Courthouse.
