Marcus Lowe, Private in the 41st Ala. Volunteer Infantry, died in Academy Hospital in Chattanooga on Jan. 16 or 17, 1863. This facility was previously the Masonic Academy. I'm looking for information on when Academy Hospital ceased operation, or if it is still in operation perhaps under some other name. I know that it was still in operation after the Union occupation of Chattanooga. I'm trying to locate what happened to the medical records of the hospital. Are they archived somewhere? Marcus Lowe's CSA military record does not list his cause of death. I'm hopeful that the medical records, if they still exist, will tell us that. Hi! I am looking for information on William HANKINS family. William was born in abt 1847/49 in Tennessee (info from census records, his parents were both also listed as being born in Tennessee). Signal Mountain (Hamilton County) is where almost all my ancestorial family came to and stayed. Probably came from Kentucky, mid 1850's or so.
I am looking for my grandmother's family. Her name was Irene Simons (married name). Before mar. her name was Irene Rutherford. Her mother was born Mary Ann Kilgore, born 1872. She married in late 1880's or so to my great-great grandfather, Henry or Archie Rutherford. When my grandmother married Ray Simons the had 6 children: Nell, Delphia (Dale), Ray, Linas, and Bonnie Simmons.
Irene Simons family were somehow related to the Levi's on Signal Mountain. Any of these ring a bell to anyone? My grandfather, Ray Simons worked many years at a (where?) golf course. He lived from 1900-1962. Never left Signal Mtn.

Looking for any information that might lead me to the parents and siblings of Wiley Richard Rodgers b. abt a1849 in TN. He was believed to have married a Elizabeth Watkins or a Jane Watson?? I have some info. on a Eliza Watkins who married a Wiley Rodgers.still checking on this. His first marriage they had a son Richard Wiley Rodgers b. july 4 1873 in Chattanooga Tn , they apparently lived there for awhile. He married a second time to a Mary Bell in Giles co. TN in 1888 they then moved to TX around 1889 or 1890 as one of the children was born in TX in 1890 and all the rest after that. He was married 7 times that we know of and still looking. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for information on a Charles Harvey. I have a Charles Harvey in Monroe County TN who transferred land to Michael Harvey prior to 1842. Charles Harvey also sold land to Caswell L. Walker in Monroe Couny TN on jan 24 1844. I believe that Charles is probably a nephew of michael Harvey through one of his brothers, either John, Robert, or an unknown Harvey who married Polly. I am wondering if the Charles Harvey listed in the following Census information is the same as the above Charles Harvey of Monroe County TN.

In the 1860 US Census TN, my father's aunt, Isabell, is listed with the family in Hamilton Co. In 1870 US Census TN Hamilton, the family next to Simeon M Eldridge's family is Caswell Teenor and wife, Isabell + 2 children Can't locate Teenor in 1880, 1900 or 1910 US Census. My great grand mother was Nancy Morgan, wife of Simeon M Eldridge. Their first known child was Jesse C Eldridge, their second son was my grand father, Alfred King Eldridge, born 1852. Simeon and Nancy married before 1845; lived in Hamilton Co, then in the area known as Long Savannah in James Co. Simeon died in Blue Springs in 1897 and Nancy died in either 1901 or 1904. According to census records she was born in either 1823 or 1825. Does anyone know who her parents and/or siblings were.
