MacDonald's Scottish Directory" of 1967
it's a bit of an insight into the 'bustling community' - as Kinross was at that
time.
Alexander Romanov-Hughes is currently putting transcriptions and indexes of the 1841 census of Kinross-Shire on his web-site at http://member.melbpc.org.au/~andes/scotland
So far he has completed the Parish of Cleish,Fossoway & Tulliebole and Portmoak and those parts of the Parishes of Arngask and Forgandenny, that were in County Kinross. He has just added the 1841 census for Scoonie, Fife. Further Parishes will be added as completed. (Alexander is researching James Johnstone who was the Parochial Schoolmaster at Cleish from c1815 to c1820 when his family moved to Leven, Fife.)
