    Poland: The 49 Provinces, 1975-1998

On 1 January 1999, Poland's interior was reconstructed.  The forty-nine provinces were reduced to sixteen, and all but three provinces were given new names.  Below you will find a map of the former 49 provinces and an explanation of which new province absorbed each of them.  Scroll down below the map to view a list of all the former provinces and what province or provinces they now belong to.
