St. Basil's Cemetery
Old Graveyard
Sullivan County
, PA

Established in 1836
Sections AA and AAA
West of Churchill Street, North of St. Basil's Church, Dushore Borough, Sullivan County, PA

Rows have been transcribed, starting from Churchill St. and proceeding up the hill. Rows should be read left to right, if looking at the front doors of the Church. It must be noted that many of these old stones are illegible or only partially legible. They also contain original spelling errors as well as attempts by the early Catholic community to phonetically recreate the names of old Irish parish and town names passed down orally. A full review of all known names listed in the parish registry at St. Basil's church might produce corrected spellings or additional information, and we are hopeful that such an examination can be carried out in the near future. Please send any proposed corrections to the Sullivan County Genealogical Web Project for consideration and further review in conjunction with our much appreciated contributors:
Mike and Debbie Krause
PO Box 88, Dushore, PA 18614
November-December 2001

The pictures of the old damaged stones for the Hennessey family were also taken by Mike Krause. Those pictures have been embedded in
crimson text to distinguish them.

September 2006: Photos of tombstones and family markers are now posted for all identifiable graves in Rows 1-25 and the left side of Row 26. Obituaries that are posted in the forum are also linked to the transcriptions. The photos are scaled to 50% or smaller for posting. Full size photos are available by email upon request to:  Michael Dempsey
