Cresson, April 20 -- Mrs. Mary Ellen McCarty, aged 53, wife of A. J. McCarty died last evening at her home along the William Penn highway at the Summit.
Ebensburg, April 20 -- Funeral services for George Ahles, aged 72, employed at St. Joseph's orphanage and whose death occurred here yesterday, will be conducted at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning in the prphanage chapel. Interment will be in St. Benedict's cemetery at Carrolltown.
Alum Bank, April 20 -- Mrs. Laura Knisely, aged 33, wife of Roy Knisely, died last night of uremia in the Windber hospital, where she was admitted an hour before death. Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
John Baker, aged 84, died Thursday at his home, 109 South Fourth Street, Philipsburg. He was the father of Mrs. J. G. Baurle, Eighth ward, and J. Harper Baker, Second ward. The funeral will take place Monday afternoon from the late residence, with interment in the Philipsburg cemetery. Blairsville, April 20 -- The funeral of Nicholas Caruso, aged 47, Pennsylvania Railroad laborer who was fatally burned yesterday while fighting a forest fire, will take place at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon from one of the local Catholic churches. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Local Stenographer and David Over, of Altoona, To Be United At Lilly Miss Marjorie Thornton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Thornton of Lilly, a local stonographer and David Over, of Altoona, an employee of the Pennsylvania Railroad company, will be married on Tuesday, January 25, at the Lilly Lutheran Church by the pastor, the Rev. Elmer F. Brown. (Ths is only a partial of the article.)
Miss Ida Cox, daughter of Lawrence Cox of Cresson, and Fred J. Kruise, son of Jacob Kruise of Glasgow, were recently married in Glasgow. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. D. Rowe, pastor of the United Brethren church at Glasgow. Mr. and Mrs. Kruise will make their home in Glasgow.
