Company B, 15th Arkansas Infantry

Born March 13, 1840 in Wayne County, Tennessee

Died March 26, 1916 in Chigley, Oklahoma

Buried at Iona Cemetery, east of Wynnewood, Oklahoma and does not have a military headstone

Levi was a farmer.  He lived in Franklin County Arkansas, at one time.  He came to Indian Territory in 1897 and was living south of Chigley in 1915.

A Murray County history book mentions him on page 289, saying that he was injured in a cyclone and died two days later.   He was known around Chigley as "Grandpa Franklin".  Chigley is south of Wynnewood and east of Joy.  He lived on the farm next to the Nelsons

The Roster shows him in the "Northwest" Arkansas Infantry

His wife was Sarah P., born October 13, 1848 and died in 1921.  Her full name was Sarah Pamelia Gurganus and they were married Sept 15, 1866 in Franklin, Arkansas
