The second Wednesday of each month, finds a
small group of genealogists at a table in
the CCGS library talking about writing and
sharing stories written during the
past month.
Some are writing their
personal history. Some write up interviews
they’ve done with family members. Some may
try writing about ancestors from several
generations back—people they’ve never met
and heard few stories about. There are no
assigned topics. Each person follows their
own muse.
We strive to improve our writing skills. We
focus on details that enable the
listener/reader to see the person or
situation we describe. We question anything
we do not understand, and we comment on the
strengths of the participants’ writing. We
get ideas for our own future writing
projects from the work shared by writing
group members.
