The former Methodist Episcopal Church was constructed in 1872.
The Wakeman Grange was organized February 2, 1886. W. B. Hall was the first Master, Mrs. A. J. French, the first Secretary and Mrs. Mary Hall the first Lecturer. Meetings were held in various places. The Grange wanted a permanent home. In November, 1919 the Methodist Church on the corner of Pleasant and Abbott Streets was purchased. On October 29, 1920 the building was dedicated as Wakeman Grange No. 1399. An addition was built in 1954. |
