My name is Alice Allen, and I will be your guide through Seneca County. While I am not in Seneca County, I hope that I can help you locate your ancestors who were once here.
Please note: You may find many broken links on this page. Recently many pages in the USGenWeb Project moved to new locations. Please be patient as I locate and correct these links.
Located in the northwestern part of Ohio, Seneca County was formed in 1820 from Huron County. It's county seat is Tiffin, and it is home to Heidelberg College. It is our plan to make this into a location where you can find information and resources for your genealogical research. We hope you enjoy your visit and will find something you can use. Be sure to visit us often, as we will be updating and adding to our resources. If you have any non-copyrighted records (wills, obituaries, etc.) that you would like to contribute, please contact me by clicking here
Please note, I do not live in Ohio and do not have access to many records from Ohio. Check out the Seneca County links (including the Seneca Co. Archives) listed below. Still can't find what you need? The mailing address for the Seneca Co. chapter of the OGS is listed at the bottom, along with the courthouse's mailing address. And you can join the OHSENECA-L mailing list (instructions are also below) and possibly receive help that way. Several members of this list own Seneca County publications or live in Seneca County and may be able to help you. And don't forget to check the "Lookups" page.
The USGenWeb Project as we know it today, began in June of 1996 to provide free genealogical data, a place to leave queries and contact researchers with similar interests. If you'd like to read the full history of the USGenWeb Project, you can find that at the following link:

herePlease note that I do not live in Ohio, so am unable to do personal research for you. I suggest that you try one or more of the following in obtaining help for your family:
1. Check the Lookups page, perhaps someone has access to the records you need.
2. Join the OHSENECA-L mailing list. Several members of the list are either residents of Seneca County, or have records they can check for you.
3. Leave a query on the Query page (above) or the Message Boards for Seneca County.
